Orland ParkThe White Sheep

I had driven by the White Sheep at least a hundred times en route to the stores near Orland Square before I finally stopped in. Now? I don’t want to brunch anywhere else — especially because this is a rare restaurant that serves brunch not just on weekends but every day. My ideal weekday morning: I drop the kids at school, call up some mom friends, and enjoy the every-day-a-Saturday feel of the place. After scarfing down the All American Hash Bowl, featuring crispy-soft potatoes served in a sizzling mini cast-iron skillet with eggs and Brussels sprouts and accompanied by pancakes so good they barely require syrup, I head to the pastry bar to grab a homemade doughnut. Even if I can’t decide between the lavender-blueberry and Ferrero Rocher varieties for a to-go treat, it’s easier knowing I don’t have to wait a week to return. 14335 LaGrange Rd. whitesheeporland.com
