Tex-Mex food does not have a large presence in Chicago, which is a shame because the cuisine has some real bangers. Thank goodness for Lonesome Rose and its queso, a gooey, spicy blend of Velveeta and cream cheese dolled up with poblanos and jalalpeños, onions, and cayenne pepper. It’s served with tortilla chips and goes perfectly with a pitcher of margs. Just take our advice and get two orders of the dip for the table. $11. 2101 N. California Ave., Logan Square; 5310 N.
