There’s even a six-course truffle-infused tasting menu for $85.

Takashi Yagihashi is one of ten chefs facing off in the finale of Top Chef Duels. If you’re planning on marking the occasion, Slurping Turtle (116 W. Hubbard St., River North, 312-464-0466) has a five-course menu and viewing party planned, with mini-games scheduled during commercial breaks. Call the restaurant to make reservations for the $50 meal.

Thursday, October 9

Burger weather is totally a thing, and it is definitely under way now. Enjoy it with a tasting of three beers and a burger from Pizza Rustica (3908 N. Sheridan Rd., Lake View). Your options include some totally over-the-top patties: one with bone marrow butter and pork belly, another with deep-fried mac-and-cheese patties. The whole shebang comes out to about $16 with beer and fries.

Congrats, the week is almost through! How does some fried chicken and a bit of bubbly sound? You can get some for a steal at Coppervine (1962 N. Halsted St., Lincoln Park, 773-935-1000), where the pairing goes for $20 every Thursday—it's one of several new weekly specials at the restaurant.

Hop to it! The fifth edition of the BeerHoptacular kicks off at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Aragon Ballroom (1106 W. Lawrence Ave., Uptown). Attendees can nab 25 samples from about 60 breweries at one of three sessions today and tomorrow, as well as check out the competition at the Beard Hoptacular (a showdown of the best facial hair).
