For two hours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings, when a three-item menu of eggy creations by Julie Warpinski (Big Star) and Dennis Bernard (Dove’s Luncheonette) makes its fleeting but glorious appearance, Big Star’s to-go window becomes ground zero for breakfast tacos. The chorizo verde and migas versions are both excellent, but the star is huevos con carne ($4): tender strips of grilled steak, peppers, and onions, spicy salsa, and cloud-like scrambled eggs.
