JDRF held the 40th annual One Dream Gala at McCormick Place on Saturday, December 14. Sponsored by Chicago magazine, the evening raised more than $7 million for type 1 diabetes (TD1) research advancements. On November 16, 2019, the National Historic Landmark Auditorium Theatre hosted its Annual Fall Gala, raising over $230,000 for the theatre’s programming, creative engagement, and restoration/preservation efforts. The evening began at the Palmer House Hilton with a cocktail reception and dinner, and finished at the Auditorium Theatre with a performance of Chicago Celebrates Sondheim!, featuring singers from across the city. PAWS Chicago hosted it 18th annual Fur Ball at The Drake Hotel on Friday, November 15. Sponsored by Chicago magazine, the event was attended by over 700 guests and their four-legged friends, the ball is a perennial favorite where canine companions enjoy all festivities with their guardians, from walking the red carpet to dancing into the night. On November 14, the 10th annual Winter Wishes event hosted by the Founders’ Board of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital raised more than $575,000 to benefit the board’s funding commitment: a three-year $7.5 million gift, which will support New Frontiers in Pediatric Medicine and Research. Nearly 400 Chicagoans gathered at the VIP reception and holiday cocktail celebration.
